Meet the PTA President
We asked current PTA President, Lisa Spano, a few questions about what it's
like to be the head of the White Eagle Parent Teacher Association.
Here's what she had to say.
Q1: What are some new ideas PTA is thinking about for next year?
A: We are working hard to improve our communications to parents and students. We are very excited to be incorporating our PTA calender, forms and other communications on the White Eagle web-site. In addition to our regular activities, we're also going to host a Fitness Fair and 5K run.
Q2: What is the hardest part of being the PTA president?
A: Sometimes I feel that it's a full time job. It's extremely rewarding but there's not a day that goes by that I don't spend time doing PTA related activities.
Q3: What is the easiest part of being the PTA president?
A: The easiest part of being PTA president is working with the PTA Executive Board; Cindy Krug, Elizabeth Tiseo, and Gretchen Cockey. They are a terrific group of women who are very professional and motivated.
Q4: What is the part of your job you enjoy the most?
A: It is very satisfying when the PTA is able to support community service projects. For example, we just finished sponsoring a blood drive. It was a great feeling to know that our efforts may ultimately save someone's life.
Q5: Why did you decide you wanted to be PTA president?
A: I've been involved in the PTA for six years; 2 years as Vice President and 1 year as President. I think it is a wonderful organization that is an advocate for each and every child. Our PTA supports a variety of educational and fun activities that truly make a difference in our school community.
